2007 Secret Speyside, 14 year-old, 62.7%

Nectar laden with subtle oak notes. Almost maderised. Some tea tannin is wrapped in ripe banana, delicate hints of lime and a whiff of smoked mackerel. Warm and honeyed. The oak notes grip but subside as the fruits shine through with lovely nectarine and some lively lemon zest keeping the juices going. Lingering with some beautiful candied fruits. Takes time and consideration but delivers in spades.
