2008 Benriach, 10 year-old, 46%

The nose provides steely barley notes with dustings of peat, until the underlying fruits awaken. There are aromas of banana, melon and autumnal berries, with some leather adding maturity. The palate is generous with more peaty notes, and swells to release the fruit. This is a beautifully composted malt that gives a feel of maturity beyond its years
